Product Reviews for AKG C3000B Single Cardioid Large Diaphragm Microphone
Feature: A pad and a roll off. Don't need anything else for a project studio.
Quality: Feels really good when you hold it. You can feel the density.
Value: Sound for price can't be beat. This mic is mroe flexible than other mics which cost more but are only suited for a few applications. This mic works great on anything acoustic
Desirability: Looks sleek.
Sound: Neither warm nor bright. Blows the famous Shure 81 away when it comes to acoustic guitar. Did A/B comparisons of acoustic guitar recordings using mackie 824 monitors, the C3000B, and several other condensers in the $100 to $700 price range. This mic was the most natural sounding. Too natural for other instruments. picks up too much sizzle and rumble when recording distorted guitar. A tad to bright for vocals. Needs to be de-essed.
Support: Had to return a different mic to akg. they were prompt.
Overall: I'm a rocker so this mic isnt as usefull to me. gonna stick to the good ole sm57.
