Product Reviews for Antares Auto-Tune Pitch Software
Desirability: As I said earlier, I went through the 10 day trial, and I like it, and have plans on buying a registered version this summer. I dont see what all the fuss is about with some of other reviewers. It's just a tool to speed things up in the studio with. We buy reverb units to put warmth in our voice (that is not naturally there) We buy delay units that thickens a thin to average voice (that is not naturally there) We slave into 30 takes to try to "naturally" produce one take without a flat spot in it, that we would never attempt such in a "live performance". ..and in the old tape days, we would splice sometimes 4 words from over 20 takes to get a perfect perforance on tape, (how natural is that?) If we are going to accept those "unnaturals" then its time accept a tool to make recording an easier and more efficient task. Somebody said earlier, if you have to have one you shouldnt be singing. Thats BS. We dont HAVE to have Air-Conditioning, cars, computers, indoor plumbing, or shoes. ..but for the ones of us that do have them, it sure makes life a little better and more convienant. If I did music 24/7 maybe I would think different, but I dont, I do the rest of life 24/7 and with the numbered hours a week I have to devote to my music, I had rather use it in perfecting my writing skills, producing skills, and instrument technique, than blowing a whole night trying to get a vocal flat worked out of a chorus. So yeah I am sold on it based on just this 10 day trial, and will write a very detailed review after I get mine in.
