Product Reviews for Martin DXM Acoustic Guitar Feature: I bought mine new but damaged so I didn't even get a case with it. Quality: Even though its primarily made of laminates, they are quality high-pressure laminates that look great and sound wonderful. The only drawback to the looks is the back of the neck. Maybe some dark stain? Value: At the going rate of $449, it would be hard to find a better deal on a new guitar. Desirability: This is a pretty standard looking axe i.e. its not sexy like my Taylor 714CE but, hey, the Taylor sells for 5 times the price! Sound: Great bass and highs but a little flat in the mids. Overall tone is well above average Support: Have never dealt with Martin but one of our band members has a 70's D35 which he had the action reset on. Martin did a great job quickly and at a reasonable price. Overall: I really like this guitar since its such a good deal for the price. If I like a guitar, I'll have it for a long time. I bought this one over Tacoma, Takamine, and Alvarez because it sounds better than the Tacoma and Alvarez and plays better than the Takamine. All were more expensive than the Martin.
