Product Reviews for Peavey JF1 Semi-Hollowbody Archtop Electric Guitar
Feature: No case with it, and I had to buy an aftermarket hardshell case.
Quality: Finish is excellent. Electronics seem good. Tuning gears might be a little dodgy. Stays in tune, but they feel a bit light duty and they aren't really precise.
Value: An excellent buy.
Desirability: It is a good, solid guitar, even if it isn't a spectacularly expensive "jazz box," like the L-5 that went away for groceries and mortgage payments.
Sound: Brought it home and immediately replaced the light gauge strings with a heavy set (58 guage E string) that included a wound G.
Overall: I mostly play bass, and keep a guitar for personal pleasure/study and so that I can show guitar players what I want them to do. All in a jazz/bebop setting. If I find myself roped into playing guitar on a gig where the guitar player doesn't show up, I won't hesitate to use this inexpensive Peavey. It is actually a qyuite competant instrument.
